Rob
is engaged in civil litigation with a particular emphasis
on commercial, real estate and securities litigation.
Rob also volunteers time to the legal community by serving
as an arbitrator for the Small and Commercial Parts of the
City of White Plains Court. |

As an example of
Rob’s work in the area of commercial litigation,
Rob and his partner, Robert M. Redis, recently successfully
represented two petitioners at both the lower court
and appellate levels in a fee dispute between the
petitioners and their former counsel arising from
and related to an eminent domain proceeding. See Papadopolous
v. Goldstein, Goldstein & Rikon, P.C., 283 A.D.2d
649, 725 N.Y.S.2d 364, 2001 N.Y. App. Div. LEXIS 5517

Rob’s work
in the area of litigation is further illustrated by
his successful defense of a motion to dismiss brought
by Dover Corporation in an employment litigation action
entitled Patrick
v. Dover Corp. (Sup. Ct., N.Y. Co., Index No.
99-605478). The court decision on that motion is reported
on the New York State Unified Court System’s

Other cases in
which Rob has successfully prosecuted or defended
include Hudson
Communities Coalition, Inc. v. New York State Office
Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, 251 A.D.2d
504, 673 N.Y.S.2d 595, 1998 N.Y. App. Div. LEXIS 6905
(2d Dep’t 1998). In this case, Kevin G.
Ryan, Rob and his partner, Robert M. Redis, intervened
on behalf of the St. John’s Riverside Hospital
and successfully defended an Article 78 proceeding
in which a coalition sought to overturn certain administrative
determinations with respect to the siting and design
of a proposed nursing home facility in Yonkers, New
York. |
