Charitable Gift Planning

The McCarthy Fingar Team

McCarthy Fingar maintains a reputation in White Plains and Westchester and throughout the New York metropolitan region as a leading law firm in the Charitable Gift Planning field. When it comes to planning for major charitable gifts, clients need lawyers who understand how to make gifts in a tax efficient fashion and to carry out an individual client’s charitable objectives. McCarthy Fingar’s Charitable Gift Planning lawyers have the knowledge and experience to provide services to individual clients and charitable organizations. Our attorneys counsel local and national charitable organizations on major gift plans, help them establish planned giving programs that utilize tax benefits to increase giving by their donors, and participate in the planning of large gifts, including the presentation of tax benefits and the drafting of appropriate agreements to effect the gifts. We also represent individual clients in the development and implementation of estate planning strategies that are designed to minimize or avoid estate taxes through the use of trusts that provide income/assets to our clients together with satisfying a client’s charitable wishes. Tax and estate planning for individual clients frequently involves utilization of charitable trusts and other split interest trusts as well as private charitable foundations. For further information, see our Exempt Organizations practice area.
